Mahakala Empowerment

Drupon Thinley Ningpo

Ligmincha Institute (Downtown)
313 2nd St. SE, Charlottesville
March 28th and 29th
9AM-12PM & 2PM-5PM

Mahakala is the protector aspect of Chakrasamvara. This deity is practiced for the benefit of all sentient beings and to fulfill the activities of pacifying interferences, increasing favorable circumstances, protecting from serious negativities and removing obstacles.

Drupon Thinley Ningpo has studied Buddhist philosophy for many years at Jangchub Ling, the main Drikung Kagyu monastery in exile in India. After this, he accomplished the traditional three-year retreat at Almora, India, during which he studied and practiced the Five-fold Path of Mahamudra and the Six Yogas of Naropa. He was awarded the title "Drupon," or retreat master based on these accomplishments. Drupon is the Retreat Master for Phuntsok Dargye Ling, the retreat center for the Tibetan Meditation Center in Fredrick, Maryland.

Mahakala is an advanced and powerful Buddhist practice and involves commitments and responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity for those with experience in Buddhism or a sincere interest.
